Golden Green Stag Beetle - Lamprima latreillii - card
Reproduced from an original watercolour painting by Cheryl Hodges. Greeting card 10 x 15cm, blank inside with brown recycled envelope.
Text on reverse of card reads:
These stunning metallic golden green beetles are medium sized, with the males growing to around 25mm. Males have enlarged mandibles, used to battle with rival males. The larvae live inside and feed upon rotten logs, usually Eucalyptus or Acacia, lying on the forest floor. They help decompose the dead trees and are an important link in the ecosystem.
