Hardenbergia violacea, also known as the Purple Coral Pea or Happy Wanderer, is a flowering vine occurring in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. It is a member of the legume family and is known for its stunning purple flowers that bloom from winter through spring. It has dark green leathery leaves with prominent veins. It naturally grows over other plants but usually not to their detriment. 
Hardenbergia violacea is a hardy plant that is relatively easy to care for. It is commonly used as a groundcover or a climbing vine. It prefers well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade, but can tolerate a range of conditions. It attracts a variety of beneficial insects. A range of cultivars is also available with different coloured flowers and growing habits.
